HERE'S WHAT'S NEW
Welcome to PensionSecuritypa.org, the website of the Pension Security Coalition. This coalition of organizations and individuals represents more than 470,000 Pennsylvanians who support preserving the financial health and defined benefit features of the State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS) and the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS).
The Pension Security Coalition supports preserving the financial health and defined-benefit features of SERS and the PSERS.
Legislative efforts to convert the PSERS and the SERS funds to defined contribution pension systems for new hires are underway. Legislation has been introduced in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. This is due partly to the projected increase in employer contribution rates and its impact on the state’s taxpayers. This is part of a national attempt to destroy defined benefit pension plans for all employees in both the public and private sectors.
